May 5, 2025, marked the first day of InterVol's recurring medical oncology - hematology volunteer mission to Belize. Through professional collaboration between key supporting organizations and individuals, patients, families and staff received personalized attention and consultation on a variety of health issues, of which cancer and sickle cell were dominant diagnoses.
The Belize Cancer Center Dangriga (BCCD) staff spent 4 incredible days with the visiting team learning, sharing and improving their patient care experiences. At the end of the 4 day mission, the team saw 26 new patients and clinically assessed 29 cancer survivors. Team members sampled delightful local food flavors, appropriated a few green mangoes, traveled to places where southern hospitality was on full display, and engaged in lively conversations with friends and colleagues about their collective mission accomplishments.

BCCD CEO Dellone Pascascio extends special thanks to InterVol's Executive Director Nicole Jones, InterVol's Medical Mission Team Leader Dr. Saad Jamshed, Belize Cancer Society (BCS) Special Projects Liaison Mrs. Laura Longsworth, key supporting personnel from MOH&W and Belize's National Credentialing Councils, members of the visiting medical and nursing teams, patients and families.
InterVol is an International Volunteer Organization headquartered on Rochester Regional Health, Reidman Campus, 100 Kings Highway South, Suite 1200, Rochester NY, 14517.
